Tinta Si Isteri Mekanik: Gulam Mee

05 April 2010

Gulam Mee

Went for dinner last night with my husband, my sister and my dad.  At first, we wanted to go to Rozali Cafe after  it was featured in Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan on Sunday afternoon.  Upon arriving, we discovered that the cafe was closed!  Our bad because we didn't watch the series betul-betul and remember the opening hours.

So we  proceeded our journey to the other side of that cafe and found two restaurants opened.  We decided on Gulam Mee because i read it somewhere in somebody's blog saying that their Mee Goreng was superb.

First time there, we were shock to see so many patrons dining and luck was on our side as we manage to grab the last two tables there.  They had a giant tv screen and it showed the APPBH 2009 award.

I ordered their Char Kuey Teow and hubby opt for Mee Goreng. My sister wanted to eat Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng and my dad, had to round the stalls there, only to ordered Mee Goreng. Aiyaa, ayah ni..Oh, I asked for satay too as i wanted to eat it for sometime already, tapi tak order sebab tau tak habis nanti.

It took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Lambat, but considering the amount of patrons, it was considerably okay.

The review: Char Kuey Teow.  It was surprisingly good, the portion is just nice for 1 person, no share-share aa.  The downside of it was the cucur tepung.  It was included and fried together with the kuey teow.  I was a bit confused, wasn't the cucur cuma kalau kita mintak mamak's style? Even they made appearance in Mee Goreng.

BUT, the drinks, they charged us hand and leg la. Milo ais RM2.20, not that kaw pun. Teh Tarik RM1.60, and Carrot & Milk RM4.00. The Mee and Kuey Teow was only RM4.00, Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang + Fried Chicken RM4.20. Chicken Satay RM13.00/20 sticks + ketupat.

Bye,
